How to select the proper castor & wheel
Although there is no sample formula or rule that can be followed in selecting the proper castor or wheel, many varying and individual factors must be balanced to make the selection which will do the best job for you.the information below is intended as a guide to assist you in specifying, operating and maintainning castor for safety and maximum life.

¡ö Load weight
The heavier the load, the larger the wheel required for the castor. The weight of the load also influences the mobility of the wheel,Load capacities listed in our catalogue are dynamic or rolling load, which is the load imposed upon a castor or wheel while in use.Furthermore, one should consider the impact or shock load which is the momentary load imposed upon a castor or wheel when the load is dropped on equipemnt, strikes obstruction or vibrates.

¡ö Floor conditions
As a general rule, hard tread wheels perform better on soft or smooth floors and soft tread wheels roll better on hard or rough floors including outdoor surfaces.Make sure the wheel you select is large enough to pass over cracks in the floor, tracks, moldings and other obstruction. The larger and softer the wheel.the greater the ability to roll over rails and similar obstacles.

¡ö Unusual Conditions
Each wheel material has certain characteristics which will give the best results where unusual conditions exist.Be sure to consider unusual environmental conditions such as moisture, extreme heat or cold, exposures to chemicals, blood, fats, oils, salt, etc.Check conditions, then select castor and wheel.

¡ö Rollablility
The larger the wheel diameter, the easier it rolls.Roller bearings carry heavier loads.Ball bearings roll easier but carry lesser loads. When possible, use the largest ball bearing wheel for best results.

¡ö Extreme climates
Room temperatures are no problem for most castors. But extreme cold or heat will affect the performance of the castor and wheel,so special bearing lubricants are required.
